Engineering and pharma seats left vacant in Telangana

Hyderabad: More than 23,000 seats were left vacant after the final phase of allocation of engineering, agriculture and pharmacy seats, which concluded on Wednesday.

While 70,120 engineering seats were offered this year, only 50,844 seats were allotted, according to figures released by Navin mittal 2020, the convener of EAMCET (entry). A total of 36,308 seats were applicable in the last phase.out of 23,070 seats, 19,276 were in engineering, 3,279 in B Pharmacy (MPC) and 515 in pharm D.In engineering, 3,110 seats distributed in 14 government college and 47,734 seats in 167 private colleges. Similarly, 48 seats were shared in three government pharmacy colleges and 82 seats were allotted in 116 private pharmacy colleges. About 515 seats are still vacant in Pharm D, calling it an annual trend. Pharmacy colleges hope that once admissions for Biology, Physics and Chemistry open, vacancies for B Pharmacy and pharm D will be filled.

The number of engineering colleges receiving 100% allotment was 38 and those who entered zero were limited to three. In the final phase, 39,182 eligible candidates used about 12.98 lakh web options
