Hyderabad: dr.lubna sarwath,Independent candidate contesting from ward no.72,asifnagar was allegedly threatened by aimim workers, Police have registered an FIR .
The Telangana State Election Commission then directed the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, asking him to inquire about Sarwath’s charge.
Activist Dr. Lubna Sarwath was running a door-to-door campaign and distributing pamphlets on Wednesday evening when she was allegedly threatened by AIMIM activists.
lubna sarwath said,”I am with my five team people suddenly had to return home after suspending our campaign. They were following us everywhere”.
After the incident, she lodged a written complaint in Asifnagar police station.she later approached the Election Commission. The commission asked the police commissioner to investigate the incident.
she said that an FIR has been registered and the SEC has written to the Commissioner of Police to inquire and take action. Lubna said, “Investigations should be time bound. Despite horrifying evidence the person is out. Justice should not be delayed.”
Lubna Saravath is a famous activist in the city. Through ‘Save Our Urban Lake’, she has highlighted the issue of encroachments around the city. she has filed cases in the Telangana High Court over the encroachments.
His election plan includes the right to food, encroachments, people’s participation in the local government.
