Hyderabad: A mid strict security, polling for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections continues on Tuesday.Polling started at 7 am at 9,101 polling stations in all 150 divisions. This process will continue until 6 p.m.

A total of 74,67,256 voters are eligible to cast their votes. These include 38,89,637 men, 35,76,941 women and 678 others.According to the Election Commission, 25.34% polling was recorded till 3 pm

The state Election Commission (SEC) had declared the rumors of vote rigging in Jiaguda ward as fake. He said, “There is no veracity in the reports of massive vote rigging in Jiaguda ward. A total of 914 votes were cast in Jia Guda polling station 38 out of 268 except, where the remaining votes were transferred to 29, 30 and 31 polling stations.”

Bandaru Vasantha, wife of Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatraya and daughter Bandaru Vijayalakshmi cast their votes at the polling station 10, J.V. High School, Musheerabad.

MBT’s Amjadullah Khan Khalid alleged that women were brought from Yakutpura to Azampura.Polling is likely to resume in Jangammet Ward after clashes between BJP and AIMM workers.

Polling in GHMC-Ward 69 in Old Malakpet has been suspended following the publication of the incorrect party symbol belonging to the Communist Party of India (CPI) on the ballot paper.

The Telangana State Election Commission has banned all exit police till the evening of December 3.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, Bontho Ram Mohan and Chiranjeevi cast their votes.

Volunteers provide wheelchair access for senior citizens and the physically challenged to vote.

With the exception of places of worship, hospitals and medicals, most shops are closed in view of the GHMC pool.

Voters at polling stations must wear face masks. Polling officials said unmasked people would not be allowed to enter the polling station.

The State Election Commission (SEC) has made all arrangements for the conduct of the elections in a formal and peaceful manner, following the rules and regulations of the Covid 19.

All polling stations were cleaned before the polling began. A sanitizer is being provided at the entrance and exit of each polling station.Circles have been marked outside the polling stations to ensure social distance.

Strict security arrangements were made at polling stations and other places, the Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rahakonda police commissions said.
