Techie hanged after harassment from online moneylenders

Hyderabad: A software employee allegedly hanged himself in Kismathpur in Rajendranagar here on Friday, after he was allegedly harassed by the operators of an online loan app.

The victim Sunil had taken an immediate loan of Rs 70,000 from an online loan app.

due to lack of cash, he was unable to repay the loan and loan app officials started calling and mounting pressure on him.

According to the police, Sunil took a second loan from the second instant loan app, but later slipped into serious debt.

As a part of the criteria for getting loan from online loan app, Sunil used the app for all contacts in his phone. As he failed to repay the loan, app officials allegedly began calling his mother and other individuals on his contact list.

Disappointed over this, Sunil suspects that he resorted to extreme steps and hangs himself in his house.

Based on the complaint of his wife Ramya, Rajendranagar police have registered a case and are investigating.
