Hyderabad: engineer committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan in a hostel room in Gachibowli APHB Colony here on Tuesday.
K Venkat Rao -27 years old resident of East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, a site engineer for irrigation projects had been staying in a men’s hostel for the past one month.
Police said Rao had sent a message to his family on WhatsApp that he was ending his life. When they called her number, there was no answer, after which they informed his friend Naga Babu. He reached the spot and knocked on the door.
With no response, Naga Babu forcibly opened the door with the help of the hostel staff and found Rao hanging from the ceiling fan. Based on a complaint by Rao’s family, Gachibowli police have registered a case and are investigating. Officials said no suicide note was found.
The body was transferred to Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
