Hyderabad: A 10-year-old boy was set ablaze in Hyderabad on Sunday night after his father drunken.
Police said the boy burned more than 50 percent and is battling for life.
A case of murder has been registered against the boy’s father, Balu. The boy is undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital.
According to the police, the family is putting up in a hut near the government school in Road No. 2 of KPHB.
On Sunday night, when the boy, identified as Rathlavath Charan, had watched television with his mother, his father Balu asked him to get Bidees from a shop.
After treatment by the boy, he beat her black and blue and dragged her out of the house. They abused her, saying that the boy was not studying well and was not attending tuition regularly.
In addition, he emptied a turpentine onto himself and set it on fire. The boy ran out for help and jumped into a ditch near the house. He was later engulfed in flames and rushed to the hospital.
