surprise visit of cm kcr at the construction site of the Secretariat

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection of the construction site of the state-of-the-art secretariat. He directed the officials and the contracting agency to complete the construction works before the deadline.
Minister of Roads and Buildings V. Accused by Prashanth Reddy and select top officials, he visited the site for the first time since assuming office last October. Officials said that KCR was satisfied with the fast pace of work. He gave suggestions to remove the bottlenecks in transporting construction materials from elsewhere in the country.
The CM questioned the officials about the need for government support for faster completion of the work.

Sources said he wants a new secretariat building to be completed by July this year. Earlier, the government had set a deadline before Dasara (October). As the contracting agency announced its readiness to complete the work as soon as possible, KCR expects it to be finished by the middle of this year.
Earlier, CM attended the 72nd Republic Day celebrations in public parks, with Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundarajan hoisted the national flag. He paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the memorial and hoisted the flag at Pragati Bhavan.
From the public garden, KCR drove directly from the tank bund area to the site near the mint compound. The government has to spend around Rs 617 crore for the construction of large size buildings in a huge complex. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and other officials were present.
