Hyderabad: Telangana on Wednesday recorded 147 new cases of covid-19 and one died, even as the number of active cases rose to 2,819 for the first time since May 31.
With the latest numbers, the total number of cases in the state so far is 2,93,737, while the death toll is 1,539.
About 16,486 trials were conducted between Monday and Tuesday, including 7,253 on primary contacts and 1,978 on secondary contacts. And 147 results came positive and 228 reports are awaited. There have been 77,28,296 trials since the epidemic.
Positive cases recorded across the state include 32 from GHMC, 12 in Rangareddy, 9 each Karimnagar and Sangareddy, 8 in Medchal Malkajgiri and 8 from Warangal Urban, 6 each from Jagatiyal and Medak, 5 each from Adilabad and Kamareddy, 4 each from Bhadradri .
