Hyderabad: More than 1.3 lakh health workers have been vaccinated in Telangana during the ongoing covid immunization drive. In the first phase, health workers and employees are being vaccinated in the public and private sector.
According to Telangana Public Health Director Dr Srinivas Rao, no serious health problems have been reported.
The state has 3.5 lakh public and private healthcare workers, and a total of 8.73 lakh doses of Covishield and Covaxin are still delivered. Vaccine doses are sufficient for workers to administer a second dose and are also used to administer the first dose for some frontline workers.
The government has set up separate centers for covishield and covaxin vaccination drives across the state as the second dose of the same vaccine is to be administered to the vaccinator. The vaccine received by the government is currently stored in a vaccination store in Koti.
