Telangana: zero death cases of covid 19 for the first time in 8 months

Hyderabad: For the first time in eight months, Telangana reported no deaths due to covid-19 on Thursday.
Health officials said that no dead from covid during the last 24 hours.
The first fatality in the state was recorded on March 28 and the state has been recording deaths on a daily basis since the last week of May.

The state has so far reported 1,613 deaths due to covid and co-morbidities.

However, the fatality rate stood at 0.54% as against the national average of 1.4 %. According to the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, while 44.96 % of deaths due to covid occurred, 55.04 % of the people had co-morbidities.
Out of a total of 33 districts, no cases were reported in the four districts during the last 24 hours.

Greater Hyderabad saw a maximum of 25 cases, followed by Rangareddy 11 cases and Karimnagar 10 cases.

There were 146 new covid cases and one death in the state during the last 24 hours ending at 8 pm Wednesday. The latest cases pushed the state tally to 2,96,134.

A total of 118 people were recovered from the virus during this period, out of a cumulative 2,92,696.

The state’s Covid recovery rate is 98.83 %. The number of active cases increased marginally to 1,825, including 765 who are in home / institutional segregation.
29,755 samples were tested during the last 24 hours ,26,202 in government laboratories and 3,553 in private laboratories. With this, the cumulative number of tests conducted in the state increased to 82,13,768. Tests per million population climbed to 2,20,681.
