Nepali couple killed by truck in Alwal in hyderabad

Hyderabad: A couple, both construction laborers and natives of Nepal were killed by a truck in Alwal early Monday.

According to police, the incident took place when two, Rooplal Bandari 35 yrs old and his wife Meena Devi 30 yrs old, were on their way to Bolarum’s house after finishing work on Sunday night.

The driver, allegedly drunk and driving a truck, hit them from behind near the Shiva temple in Alwal.

“The driver lost control of the wheel, and the vehicle went over the couple.

Police said they died on the spot, although passers-by tried to shift them to a nearby private hospital, but by then they had died.
The Alwal police registered a case of death due to negligence. The bodies were transferred to the Gandhi Hospital Morgue for autopsy and later handed over to the family.

Efforts are on to apprehend the driver who escaped after the accident.
