Hyderabad: The mercury level in the state capital has gone up. Residents of the city have been facing heat since morning 8 am.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature is likely to go above 38 degrees Celsius in the next one week and the weather conditions will be mostly dry and humid.
The temperature was 34.5 degrees on Friday and 36 degrees on Saturday.
The increase in mercury levels has also led to an increase in the maximum power consumption of Hyderabad. Consumption, which was 45 to 46 million units four days ago, has now risen to 49 million units on Friday. Officials said that consumption would touch the 60 million unit mark in March.
