International call diversion racket busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The three-member gang involved in the call termination racket was arrested by the Rajendranagar police.

Police said the gang was organizing the racket from a flat through a mobile network and diverting international calls.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Ashraf 23 years old, who has an IT background, Syed Mohammad Nasir 30 years old and Sheikh Akbar 25 years old.

On information, police raided a house near Pillar No. 181 of PVNR Expressway and busted the racket after information.
ACP Rajendranagar,R. Sanjay said, “The gang was using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) via the Internet. The gang had arranged for 500 channels of Jio SIP truck equipment and each channel could accommodate three SIM cards. “At a time, 1,500 calls can be diverted to use the device,” ACP said.
