Viral diseases are increasing due to rise in temperature

Hyderabad: Viral diseases are increasing in the twin cities due to warm weather. There are people who are vulnerable to the rise in temperature and thus they are worried.

Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, cough, cold, sore eyes, rashes on the face and itching of the skin are some of the common diseases of the summer season. These diseases are common in late April. However, hospitals are reporting these cases at the end of this season.

According to Health Department officials, government directives were made available to all public health centers, basti clinics and government hospitals to provide better treatment to patients coming with heat illnesses.

Common summer diseases occur during the day. Therefore, people should avoid excessive exposure to the sun, especially around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, when the rays of the sun are directly perpendicular.

Some common disease in summer are heatstroke or hyperthermia,food poisoning,dehydration,mumps,chicken pox,measles,typhoid,sunburn,heat rashes,other summer diseases include diarrhea, dysentery, cholera and are the most common water-borne diseases

To avoid these disease keep yourself hydrated at home and on the journey, drink plenty of water and drink fluids like coconut water, buttermilk, and lemon water. Make sure you have at least 10-12 glasses of water throughout the day.

Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothes because darker clothes absorb more heat and tight clothes do not allow your body to sweat.

During travel or outdoor activities, avoid heavy exercise. Look for the shade and relax. Never sit in a car exposed to strong sunlight and try to park your vehicle under the shade.

Apply ice packs and pain relievers for sunburn due to sun rays. Wash your hands properly and follow the normal hygiene rules when handling food.

Do not eat undercooked and street food and avoid eating outside. Try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, cucumber, sugarcane, and mangoes.

To avoid further spread of sore eyes and infection, clean your hands thoroughly, wash and lubricate your eyes with clean water to reduce soreness.

Apply mosquito repellent cream and avoid mosquito breeding sites
