Hyderabad: Customs officials on Wednesday seized 2.5 kg of gold hidden in a mixer and grinder and other electronic items at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).
The passengers reached Hyderabad from Dubai on Wednesday morning. Customs officials have seized 2.5 kg of gold, which is estimated to cost Rs 1.15 crore.
Officials said they registered five cases against the passengers.An investigation is underway.
In another case, authorities seized USD 30,000 foreign currency from a passenger going to Dubai. A case was registered against the passenger under the Currency Limit Act 1962.
