Hyderabad: Although HMWSSB is claiming to supply water in the old city uninterrupted, citizens complain that dirty water is being provided through their taps which is also not good for domestic use.
Stinky water, yellowish with a smelly odor, is being supplied. Such complaints are being reported mainly in Hussainialam, Koka tatti, Deccan Colony, Koka Bazar, Char Mahal, Puranapul, doodhbowli, Khilwath, Murgichowk and Charminar constituencies.
“The water supplied by HMWS& SB is yellow and smelly like it is mixed with fake sewerage. It has been running for the last 15 days.
“As always, issues are being monitored despite bringing the authorities to their notice, “complained Mohammad Mohsin, a Kokatatti, Hussainialam.
When a similar problem occurred last year, officials raised the level of morbidity of the water with their hands, saying the board had increased it because it was pulling it from the dead storage of Himayatsagar due to a serious condition in the lake.
However, the situation is not good this year. The lakes in and around the city are completely full. Even officials confirmed that there will be no water shortage this year.
Khader Mohiuddin, General Manager – (Div-I) HMWS & SB, said that”We are receiving similar complaints from various areas and have started taking measures to deal with this problem. We have reduced pumping of water from Himayatsagar We have decided to do this and increase the supply from Krishna. We are keenly working on this issue and it will be resolved within a week. “
Stating that the increased level of floral extraction in the lake is the primary cause of water contamination, he said “floral decomposition often leaves its extract in the water, badly affecting the color of the aqua in the lake. It is in fact. Water is being supplied to the citizens. The board has experienced a similar situation in 2010 when the water body received a huge flow. We have already given the Board of Directors and Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) wing Has written and is making them aware of the current situation. “
