Hyderabad: An outsourced worker of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, who was on duty at Medchal, died when his colleague was injured when he was hit by a high-speed truck on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred around 8 am, when Dasaratha from Pudur and Lakshmi from Medchal were cleaning the road near SR wines, when the unidentified truck running towards Medchal ran over them.
According to the police, Dasharatha suffered head injuries and Lakshmi died on the spot due to traumatic injuries. His comrades participated in his rescue and alerted the police.
Medchal police have registered a case and are trying to identify and apprehend the absconding driver. The body was transferred to Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
