Hyderabad: Kidnapped child rescued in 30 hours

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda sleuths settled the case of kidnapping a 2years old child within 30 hours thanks to CCTV cameras installed across the state.

On April 6 afternoon, the accused, Muthaiah, 45, coolie, from Anthampeta village in Nalgonda district spotted two year old Abhilash alone under a tree at Kothapet.

Manju, the boy’s mother, left the child alone under the tree and went to natures call. Muthiah kidnapped the boy and escaped from the spot.

Based on the complaint lodged by Manju and her husband,G Srinu, a labourer from Saidabad, Saroornagar

Police registered a kidnapping case and launched a man hunt to nab the offender.

Police verified CCTV camera footage at the crime scene and saw that a 45 years old suspect had kidnapped the boy.
Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat roped the Special Operations Team and IT Cell in the investigation.

The police team followed the antics of the suspect and analyzed the CCTV footage at several places and finally established his identity.
On Wednesday night, police arrested Muthaiah from his house in Anthampet village of Mariguda mandal of Nalgonda and rescued the boy.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that he married twice in the past and both his wives have deserted him.

Muthaiah is living alone and when he comes to Kothapet in search of work, he sees the boy and kidnaps him.
The accused told the police that he wanted to raise the boy.

The police handed over the boy to his parents and the accused was sent to judicial remand.
