Residents of the old city witness cut off electricity during the prayers of Taraweeh

Hyderabad: Due to the rain, residents of the old city of Hyderabad witnessed power cuts on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning during Taraweeh and Sahari times.

Residents of several areas such as Chanchalguda, Hafiz Baba Nagar-A Block, Bandlaguda, Mehdipatnam, Nampally and Red Hills witnessed repeated disruptions in power supply for a few hours.

Meanwhile, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjadullah Khan Khalid also complained that there was no electricity supply in the Chanchalguda area on Tuesday night.
Issuing an explanation, Telangana State Southern Electricity Distribution Company (TSSPDCL) Director of Operations J. Srinivas Reddy said that heavy rains and wind caused disruption.

He said that 55 out of 2500 feeders in the metro zone had a minor problem. Officers were trying to solve the problem during the entire night, he said.
