Hyderabad: Covid-19 cases in Telangana continued to rise with 4,446 fresh infections on Saturday, the highest in a day, and 12 deaths.
This increased the gross to over 3.46 lakhs, while the death toll rose to 1,809.
The Bulletin states that Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 598 cases followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (435) and Rangareddy (326) with providing details as on 16 April at 8 pm.
The total number of cases was 3,46,331, while 1414 patients were cured, the total recovery being 3,11,008.
There are 33,514 active cases in the state and more than 1.26 lakh samples were tested on Friday.
More than 1.14 crore samples have been tested. The bulletin states that the samples tested per 10 lakh population were more than 3.11 lakh.
The death rate in the state was 0.52 percent while at the national level it was 1.2 percent.
The recovery rate in the state was 89.8% while in the country it was 87.2%.
According to Telangana Public Health Director G. Srinivasa Rao, the positivity rate doubled in the last 15 days. He said the positivity rate was 1.63% in March, which doubled to 3.52% in April.
