In Gandhi Hospital no ventilator beds are left.

Hyderabad: State Health Minister E. Rajendar said on Thursday, Gandhi Hospital, Telangana’s largest government hospital and total COVID-19 facility, has no ventilator beds are left.
The hospital occupies all 619 ventilator beds.

Rajendra blamed many private hospitals for this condition for sending critically ill patients to Gandhi, either due to lack of ventilators or oxygen or because the families of the patients are unable to pay their charges. He told reporters that this is also increasing the number of deaths.

The minister has asked government-run hospitals in other parts of the state to ensure treatment of COVID-19 patients in their districts and not send them to Hyderabad.

Gandhi Hospital has a total of 1,869 beds of which 1,050 are vacant.

There are 1,801 ICU beds (ventilators / CPAP) in total 116 government hospitals in the state, of which 764 are vacant.

There are 925 private hospitals in the state which are treated COVID-19. They have 6,603 ICU beds, of which 2,856 are vacant.

He said that testing is important to check the prevalence, the state is testing 1.10 lakh to 1.50 lakh every day.

“If necessary, the department is ready to conduct 2 lakh tests every day,” he said.

He dismissed criticism for conducting a low number of RT-PCR tests, stating that the results of these tests take 2–4 days.

Rajendra said that the state has the maximum capacity to conduct 30,000 RT PCR tests every day.
