Hyderabad: In the wake of Mahavir Jayanti on 25 April, all the meat shops will be closed on Sunday.
The GHMC has issued a circular on Sunday to close all mutton, chicken and beef shops within the Limits.
GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar ordered the veterinary authorities to ensure compliance with the orders of the shop owners.
Meat-selling houses and shops will reopen on Monday.
Non-veg lovers in the city were shocked by the decision of the municipal authorities.
On Sunday, liquor shops will remain closed on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
