Hyderabad: Door-to-door survey conducted on Tuesday in the GHMC limits, found 1,487 individuals with fever and other covid symptoms.
A total of 641 teams, including field-level functionaries of GHMC and Health Department, covered 40,000 families in the GHMC limits.
Covid kits were distributed to 1,480 persons of the 1,487 individuals.
The teams of field-level workers, including an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and an official from the Entomology wing of the GHMC, also collected the contact details of the individuals with symptoms.
The Municipal Corporation carried out a special cleanliness drive in the areas where a large number of fever cases were reported during the survey.
The teams referred approximately 18,600 individuals with specific symptoms to Basthi Dawakhanas and Urban Primary Health Center (UPHCs) undergoing covid tests.
GHMC officials said about 3,600 of these people had moderate temperatures.
