Ola, Uber drivers and delivery boys suffers from severe economic crisis

Hyderabad: After suffering greatly from the epidemic, lockdown, and rising diesel and petrol prices, Ola and Uber drivers are now facing a second wave of COVID-19 outbreaks.
Similarly, Zomato and Swiggy delivery boys are also suffering and are waiting for the government’s help.

According to sources, 549 Ola, Uber drivers and 311 Swiggy, zomato delivery boys have tested positive for COVID-19.

It is reported that there is no government scheme to support the drivers and delivery boys, resulting in which they are have been left to suffer on their own without any support from any quarter.

Ola and the Uber Drivers Association said that eight drivers died due to COVID-19, and there is no mechanism to help the drivers. 

Similarly, Swiggy and zomato delivery boys said they needed government support after so many delivery boys were covid positive.

The main demand for Ola, Uber drivers and Zomato and Swiggy delivery boys is to provide their medical cover so that they can continue to work and earn for themselves and their families.
