Covid-19 cases continues declining in telangana

Hyderabad: Health officials said on Saturday that fresh COVID-19 cases in Telangana continue to decline, as 5,186 new infections have occurred in the state.

The daily count has been steadily decreasing for the past one week and officials claimed that the situation was under control.

State health officials, who returned to the practice earlier in the evening to issue media bulletins, said the epidemic claimed 38 lives in a 24-hour period,with this, the death toll has risen to 2,704.

The fresh cases pushed the cumulative match to 4,92,385. The state continued to have more recoveries than new cases.

During this period 7,994 people were recovered, taking cumulative recoveries to 4,21,219.

The recovery rate, which had plunged to around 80 percent a few days ago, has now improved to 85.54.

The number of active cases fallen to 68,462. For the second consecutive day, the daily count of cases in Greater Hyderabad was below 1,000.

904 cases were registered in the state capital.

Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri adjoining Hyderabad reported 399 and 366 cases respectively.

Nalgonda 317 cases, 231 in Warangal Urban, 182 in Karimnagar, 181 in Siddipet, 176 in Khammam, 175 in Vikarabad, 172 in Mahboobnagar and 172 in Nagarkurnool. Out of 33 districts, 15 had new cases in double digits.
