Hyderabad: Telangana continues to have a declining trend in COVID-19 cases, with 2,242 fresh infections reported on Sunday, exceeding 5.53 lakh, with the toll being 3,125 with 19 deaths.
A Bulletin of the Health Department stated that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has the highest number of 343 cases, followed by Rangareddy 174 casesand Karimnagar 165 cases.
There are 40,489 active cases in the state. The drop in cases has been seen since May 18, when 3,982 cases were reported in the state.
The total number of recoveries was 5,09,663, with 4,693 people recovering on Sunday.
The cumulative number of cases was 5,53,277. More than 42,000 samples were tested on Sunday, taking the total to over 1.45 crore.
The Bulletin states that the samples tested per million population were more than 3.89 lakh.
The mortality and recovery rate in the state were 0.56 % and 92.11 %as compared to 1.1 %and 88.3 % at the national level.
