mosque was converted into a COVID care center

Hyderabad: shortage of beds, medical oxygen and essential medicines in the city’s COVID hospitals, an Hyderabad-based NGO has come forward to convert a mosque into a COVID care center where mild to moderate patients are being treated.

The classrooms have been converted into a 40-bed COVID isolation center by the NGO ‘Helping Hands Foundation’ with the help of the Rotary Club of Hyderabad and SEED, USA, on the premises of Masjid-e-Mohammadi Ahle Hadith in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

Daneal, whose mother is tested positive and has been admitted to the isolation center, said the facilities being offered at the center are very good and all facilities including medicines and oxygen are free.

He further said that food is being provided to the patients three times a day at no charge.

Dr. Mohammad Arif of the Foundation said, “In this mosque which has been converted into a COVID center, we are recruiting patients with mild and moderate symptoms. We are providing them all the necessary medical treatment. ”

Dr.fareedullah said that “many patients are unable to get beds in hospitals. He also said that oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators are available round the clock and doctors are also available here to monitor the health status of the patients.

Dr. Shafi is the one who is looking after the whole project. They have treated more than 5,000 COVID patients in the last year and a half.”

He further said that if the demand increases then they are ready to increase the number of beds to 65 and above.

He mentioned, “Regardless of their religious beliefs, if a person is tested positive and needs help, we are here for them.”

He also said that if a patient enters a serious health condition, he will immediately be referred to a COVID hospital like Gandhi Hospital or Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (TIMS) in Hyderabad.
