From today Hyderabad Metro will run till 2 pm

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) on Monday decided to extend its services by one more hour from Tuesday in view of the extended relaxation time during the ongoing lockdown.

The decision was taken on the advice of Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, who traveled by Metro and inspected Metro services and COVID-19 protocols at Metro stations. Accompanied by HMRL MD NVS Reddy and L&TMRHL MD KVB Reddy, he traveled by a metro train from Khairatabad station to Ameerpet metro interchange station.

The Chief Secretary interacted with the passengers and inquired about train services, safety measures etc.

Passengers appreciated the facilities and security arrangements, but requested to extend the time of the metro train, so that they could reach home comfortably after the office / business was closed. On this response, Somesh Kumar advised both the MDs to extend the services by an hour or two.

Accordingly, the last trains in each direction will now depart from the terminal station at 1 pm. Arrive at destination stations at 2 pm instead of 11.45 pm. From Tuesday. There is no change in the starting timings and the first train will start at 7 am from the terminal stations.

Somesh Kumar congratulated both the MDs for the good service and security arrangements being provided by Hyderabad Metro Rail to the passengers in this difficult time.

The Telangana government had extended the lockdown relaxation time by seven hours (6 am to 2 pm) from the earlier four hours (6 am to 10 pm) from Monday, following the state cabinet’s decision on Sunday, HMRL announced. It was that the last train would start at 11.45 am. And reach the respective termination stations by 12.45 pm

“For everyone’s safety, passengers are advised to strictly follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines including social distancing, wearing of face masks, regular hand sanitisation and thermal screening.

Passengers are requested to cooperate with security personnel and staff of Hyderabad Metro Rail in their efforts towards keeping their journey safe,” HMRL said.
