Hyderabad: Hyderabad, along with the world, is celebrating International Yoga Day on Monday. Taking part in the seventh Yoga Day, people from different parts of the city have been sharing their photographs and videos on several social websites since morning.
Many institutions and organisations held the Yoga Day in the morning properly following COVID-19 protocols. Young and old alike participated in the events across the city.
Several NGOs, spiritual organisations, fitness experts and instructors organised special yoga classes for their students online. Several yogis were seen with their yoga mats, in many parks and public places practising various asanas on Monday morning.
Importance of yoga:Yoga is not a religion; it is a way of living that aims towards ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’.
The art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind; it helps manage stress and anxiety and keeps you relaxing. It also helps in increasing flexibility, muscle strength and body tone. It improves respiration, energy and vitality. Practicing yoga might seem like just stretching, but it can do much more for your body from the way you feel, look and move.
