Revanth Reddy takes responsibility of Telangana Congress Committee Chief;Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday formally took charge as the new president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.Outgoing president N Uttam Kumar Reddy handed over the charge amidst chanting of mantras.

The change of leadership in Telangana Congress has been affected almost six-and-a-half-year after Uttam Kumar Reddy was given the charge in February 2015.

The swearing-in ceremony of Revanth as the TPCC president was preceded by a huge rally from Peddamma temple in Jubilee Hills to Gandhi Bhavan in Nampally.

Revanth offered prayers at Peddamma temple and sought divine blessings. 

Later, he led the rally to Yousufain Dargah and paid his respects in tune with the secular ideology of the Congress.

Special prayers were offered for the successful stint of Revanth Reddy as TPCC president, at the temple and Dargah.

Congress leaders and cadres from various parts of the state participated in the rally.

The appointment of Revanth as TPCC president is expected to give Congress a fresh lease of life in Telangana and a much-needed morale booster to the cadre.

Revanth is expected to address the Congress workers and leaders shortly.

Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka, the All India Congress Committee in charge of Telangana Manickam, Tagore and all the senior leaders of the party were present.
