Cyberabad Police Nabbed the Dacoiti Gang Working as House maids and Robbed the House.

Hyderabad : A maid, servant and the accused Janki laced food and tea with sedatives (sleeping pills) and served the same to all family members and workers in that house due to which they fell unconscious. She served green tea to complainant Smt. G. Sailaja Reddy, but she had a few sips and did not drink the tea as the taste was different due to which she did not lose her complete consciousness. After the inmates were unconscious, Janki and Manoj passed on information to Netra, who in turn sent 02 persons inside the house and later he also entered the house.

They beat and blindfolded Mrs. Sailaja Reddy and threatened to kill her and infant grandson Ayansh if she raised alarm. They searched for gold, jewelry, cash, and other valuables, took them, and decamped with the booty. Since all the family members and drivers were unconscious, the complainant remained inside the house the whole night in a panic. The next morning she unfolded with the help of scissors, called out the neighbouring plot watchman Ramu, who in turn informed her sister’s son Suryanarayana Reddy, residing in the neighbouring house. He shifted her husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandson and driver to hospital for treatment.
Basing on the complaint a case was booked in Raidurgam PS vide Cr. No: 600/2020, U/s 395, 397, 307, 452, 342 IPC

Modus Operandi:
The dacoity team is headed by the accused Netra Bahadur Shahi. He identifies people who are from his nearby villages and who are working in major cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, etc. as housemaids and servants and befriends them and convinces them for committing the offenses through the use of sleeping pills in their owners food. Once they are convinced, he calls his teammates from different places like Mumbai, Delhi, Udaipur, Surat and plans for committing the offences.
He gives the maid sleeping pills which are to be mixed in the food and beverages and once the owners are unconscious, the maid calls his team members through mobile. The other team members enter the premises and robs the house of all valuables like Gold, jewellery, silver, cash etc and all the team members reach Nepal through different route’s.
The same gang is involved in previous case of Narsingi PS vide Cr. No: 10/2020 U/s 381, 328 IPC

The Telangana Police received excellent co operation from UP Police, Uttarkand Police and SSB.

Theft Advisory:
 Get an authentic ID proof of the domestic help.
 Do a proper background check. Find out from them where they have worked earlier. Get their phone number and make a call. Know the past history of the person who will be inside your house when you are away. Also, find out about the background of their spouse or direct family members (history of past arrests, criminal links, or gang relations.)
 While recruiting house maids/servants Interview the maids face to face. Please understand, a recommendation from a friend is of no value if the maid ends up stealing from you or harming your family. You need to do this face to face and assess whether the person is suitable or not.
 Identify the people who frequently interacts with your house maids/servants.
 Do not leave the help unsupervised in a room containing valuables
 Do not let them know where the valuables are.
 Do not become dependent on your domestic help
 Please use the proper lock, use a steel lock which is stronger than brass locks.
 Please install CCTV cameras in your home and surroundings, ensure camera facing street on both sides and your home.
 Keep jewellery and valuables in locker facility.
 While going out of station, Please carry your valuables or carry with you.
 While going out of station, Please inform your neighbours to keep a watch on your home.
 While renting out your premises, check for antecedents of tenants and also collect id proof copy.
 If some suspicious activity is noticed on new persons, please inform your police station.
 Don’t share your travel details with anyone especially on social media.
 Don’t allow strangers into your home, talk with them outside of your home.
