Hyderabad: Famed star couple Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are no longer together as husband and wife. Putting an end to all the speculations and rumors, they issued a statement about their divorce on social media to make the news official.
The two shared a note that read, “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part way as husband-wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers, and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support.”
This news has come as a shock to their fans. On and on, there had been reports that the couple has been staying apart and that Chay had left their home in Gachibowli. It all started when Sam removed the surname Akkineni from her social media profiles. Then, Chay was missing from her stories and photographs. Sources close to the couple had told many news outlets that something was wrong between the couple but there was no official confirmation. Also, a few told that the two were planning a family. Now, all the rumors have come to an end with the couple making their divorce official.
On a professional front, Chay is celebrating the success of his recent blockbuster film ‘Love Story’ which went on to become a hit at the box office. He is making his debut in Bollywood with ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. Samantha was last seen in ‘The Family Man 2’ and will be seen in ‘Shaakuntalam’, a Guna Sekhar directorial, and ‘Kathuvakula Rendu Kadhal’ directed by Vignesh Shivan which will star Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara as well.
