Hyderabad: A woman approached the Saidabad police alleging she was cheated and raped by a man who promised to tie a knot with her.
Police said, the 23-year-old woman became friends with the suspect K.Venkatesh (26), from NTR Nagar on social media in 2017.
He proposed to her and she accepted. Since then, they had met on several occasions. He promised to marry her and raped her several times.
However, recently when she asked him to marry, Venkatesh started avoiding her. When she asked him, he refused to marry her and threatened her.
A case of rape and cheating was booked and efforts are on to arrest the suspect.
