Hyderabad: The Cyberabad cops have intensified the special drive against drugs, particularly marijuana, and have been carrying out continuous raids across the commissionerate. On Tuesday alone, 13 persons were caught on charges of drug peddling.
Following instructions from Police Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra, the police across all zones have stepped up checking at hotspots on a daily basis. Officials said bulk buyers, local retailers and drug transporters are put on the police radar in order to curb marijuana peddling and its consumption witin the commissionerate limits.
So,on Tuesday, eight cases were registered and 13 persons were taken into custody for drug peddling. During the raids, six kgs of ganja was seized.
Apart from this, special drives were also conducted against gutkha and smoking in public places and 27 E-petty cases were booked.
The Cyberabad Police requested citizens to inform them about drug suppliers on Dial 100 or through the Cyberabad WhatsApp number – 9490617444.Officials said, their identity will be kept confidential.
