Hyderabad: A person who allegedly attacked and snatched a mobile phone from actor Shalu Chaurasiya, while she was on a walk on November 14 at KBR Park, was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Saturday. The police recovered the gadget from the suspect.
The person taken into custody, identified as Kommu Babu (21), a local resident of Indiranagar in Banjara Hills, was working as a helper in movie shootings. He allegedly threatened the actor with a stone while she was walking and snatched her iPhone, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said.
After snatching the mobile phone, Babu escaped from the spot. On a complaint, the police formed several special teams comprising police personnel from Commissioner’s Task Force and Banjara Hills police.
“After checking around 80 offenders, the police zeroed in on the suspect. He was picked up and on questioning, he admitted to the offence,” the Commissioner said.
