Hyderabad: The Chilkalguda police nabbed a five-member attention diversion gang and seized a car, cash of Rs 3,500 and three mobile phones from them here on Thursday. The arrested persons are Mohd. Farooq Khan (29) from Chandrayangutta, Mohd. Khaled (23) from Kanchanbagh, Syed Khaja (22) from Kanchanbagh, Salman Shareef (22) from Hafeezbaba Nagar and Shaik Ismail (19) from Kanchanbagh.
All suspects who studied up to class ten are close friends. They are involved in similar offences in Attapur, Mehdipatnam and Secunderabad Railway Station.
Police said, the suspect posing as cab drivers and passengers steal valuables from passengers. Recently, they targeted an advocate from Chikkadpally at Chilkalguda.
Based on a complaint, the Chikalguda police registered a case and with the help of CCTV footage from the spot and surroundings, identified them. They were arrested and produced before the court for remanding in judicial custody.
