21 Year Student Arrested for Targeting Muslim Women in Bulli Bai App.

Mumbai : The Mumbai police on Tuesday, January 4, formally arrested the 21-year-old Bengaluru student who was detained in connection with the ‘Bulli Bai’ application where Muslim women were ‘auctioned.’ A senior Mumbai police official has confirmed that the student has been identified as Vishal Kumar , who is a second-year engineering student studying in Bengaluru.

The official also said that the cyber cell has also detained a woman in connection with the case, a 21-year-old woman is from Uttarakhand, who they believe is the main accused in the case. The police have not revealed any more information about the two. 

The arrested man, detained a day ago from Bengaluru. The arrest came after 10 hours of questioning by Mumbai Police Cyber Cell DCP Rashmi Karandikar.

Police said the main accused was handling three accounts related to the ‘Bulli Bai’ app. “Kumar opened an account by the name Khalsa supremacist. On December 31, he changed the names of other accounts to resemble Sikh names. Fake Khalsa account holders were shown,” the Mumbai Police said in a statement as quoted by news agency ANI
