HYDERABAD:Telangana’s Water Resources Department recently surveyed and revealed that 50% of the state’s lakes are overflowing due to heavy rainfalls in the past weeks and also it’s says thanks for the heavy rains. 24,000 of 43,000 lakes are overflowing said by Officals. Another 15,152 lakes and tanks have reached 75% to 100% of their full capacity.
Though the rains cause death and damage in many parts of the state, including Hyderabad we are offered with an unique opportunity to mark their correct full tank levels as the water bodies are spilling over.
As the overflowing lakes also have a flip side “that’s means water is guaranteed for rabi season”.In the next summer thousands of villagers will reach water requirements due to the overflowing of lakes Sridhar Deshpande, CM’s officer on special duty (water resources) said.
