‘Cook on Road’ hold by congress to protest price hike of fuel, cooking gas

Hyderabad: The Congress party on Thursday staged a ‘cook on road’ protest here against the increase in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.

Using wood, protesters cooked food on the street to highlight the difficulties of the common man.

Talking to the media, Congress leaders reprimanded the central government for the rising prices of LPG.

Congress leaders alleged that the Narendra Modi government is pro-corporate and not fulfilling its promises made to poor people. They demanded the withdrawal of fuel prices from the central government and warned that if the government failed to do so, they would intensify their stir in the entire Telangana state.
This protest led to disruption of traffic movement in Nampally. The Congress leaders who led the protests were TPCC General Secretary Uzma Shakir, Secretary B Jedson, Minority Leaders Zubair Hussain, Siraj Khan, Yusuf Danish, Sultan Mirza and others.
