Telangana Highcourt Orders to Club All FIRs Against Akbaruddin Owaisi into One.

Hyderabad : In a Major relief to AIMIM Floor Leader and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, the Telangana high court on Monday ordered to clubbing of multiple FIRs against him for alleged hate speech in Nirmal in 2012 into one single case and to transfer them to the Hyderabad trial court hearing cases against MLAs and MPs.

Akbaruddin’s counsel N Naveen Kumar, while referring to the several FIRs in various police stations, said: “There cannot be multiple FIRs on one single alleged crime. We filed a petition in the high court urging it to quash the case against us.”

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan directed the authorities to treat the first FIR booked at Nirmal as main case and consider all later complainants as witnesses for prosecution. “Their statements must be treated as witness statements. They need not be run as separate cases,” he said.
