Hyderabad: A 24-year-old youth committed suicide on Sunday by jumping into the durgam Cheruvu of Madhapur. The youth was identified as Sheikh Bilal Hussain, a resident of Visakhapatnam.
police said Hussain jumped into the lake from the new cable bridge and died by committing suicide.
As soon as the visitors were alert on the bridge, the police reached the spot and recovered the body from the lake. He was identified on the basis of a copy of his Aadhar card, which was found in his pocket.
A flight ticket was also found in his pocket, which revealed that he had taken an IndiGo flight from Vizag to Hyderabad on 18 December.
It is suspected that he took the extreme step, upset over not getting a job. Madhapur Inspector P Ravindra Prasad said further investigations were on.
Bilal’s parents were informed of the incident and the body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
