Residents are relieved by the fall in vegetable prices in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The fall in vegetable prices in Hyderabad has brought relief to the residents of the city who were worried about the rise in prices of other essential commodities.

Vegetable prices in Hyderabad have come down due to increased supply from Telangana and other districts of neighboring states.

Currently, tomatoes are being sold at Rs 10-15 per kg. Other vegetables are being sold for around Rs 25-40. It is also expected that prices will not increase for the next two months.
According to agricultural officials, many districts of Telangana drop in prices are seen due to bumper production and continuous supply from neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The supply has flooded the local wholesale vegetable market in Hyderabad i.e, L.B.nagar, Madannapet, Mir Alam Mandi, Bowenpally and Kudimalkapur.

Meanwhile, officials of the Ministry of Agriculture have said that they are observing the prices of vegetables to ensure that the farmers are not in loss by the fall in prices.
