KCR to Officals to make sure Hyderabad tanks, lakes are not breached.

Due to heavy rains and flash floods, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has alerted the Officals to make sure that tanks and lakes in Hyderabad city are not breached .

KCR alerts the officials to form at least 15 special teams in order to inspect the tanks in the city from time to time and take the necessary measures in preventing any untoward incident.

The CM also spoke to Principal Secretary of Water Resources department Rajat Kumar and gave heap of directions.

Hyderabad received heavy rains which were unprecedented and exceptional in the last hundred years. This has resulted in heavy floodwater instreaming .  Besides the floodwater in the city, water from the tanks in surrounding areas also entered the city. All the tanks are overflowing with water. The Met department forecast says there are chances of more heavy rains. Against this backdrop, the entire official machinery should be on a high alert,” he said.

Alert people in the low lying areas and those living unprotected places. Shift people from these areas to safer places,” he said. Resources department officials and staff should be formed. They should examine each and every tank and lake in the city has they have water capacity. Identifying the tanks that may breach and take precautionary measures. Meanwhile Osman Sagar flood gates will be opened at any time due to overflowing. Rajendra Nagar Revenue Divisional Officer K Chandrakala has asked slum residers to remain alert.

The revenue officer asked the authorities to evacuate families living in low lying areas to safe locations.
