KCR to hold public meeting on February 10 in Halia

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar rao will address a party public meeting in Halia in Nalgonda district on February 10. It is to note that the public meeting is ahead of Nagarjuna Sagar, which is likely to take place in the coming months.

Nagarjuna Sagar’s assembly seat fell vacant after the sudden demise of Nomula Narasimhaiah, an elected member of the state legislative assembly. Since then the constituency where TRS and Congress party have a strong hold has become important for political parties in Telangana.

Meanwhile, on 5 February, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that all lift irrigation schemes, including Nellikalu in Devarakonda, Nagarjunasagar, Munugode, Kodad and Huzurnagar constituencies under the joint Nalakunda district, will be constructed soon.

The decision came after a meeting between CM and Telangana State Legislative Council chairman Gutta Sukhendra Reddy, ministers Jagdeesh Reddy, MLAs, MLCs, ZP and other public representatives.

“The CM said that under various projects the Ayucut was covered, and to supply water to the remaining Ayucut, 8 to 9 lift irrigation schemes with Nellikalu would be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore. Decided to lay the foundation. Lift up irrigation schemes at one place. CM will lay the foundation stone of lift irrigation schemes at Nellikalu at 12.30 pm on February 10 and later at 2 pm he will address the TRS party public meeting to be held in Halia.
