Telangana recorded 216 fresh Covid19 infections, the first time it has reported over 200 cases in several weeks. The number of fresh infections had been around 150 cases per day till a few days ago.
The number of Infections reported in the last seven days shows a Spike and constant uptick in infections. On Friday, the number of fresh cases reported from Greater Hyderabad too crossed 50 for the first time in several weeks.
Telangana health minister Eatala Rajender, who reviewed the Covid-19 situation at a meeting, directed health officials to increase the number of daily tests to 50,000 and issued instructions to tackle any likely impact in Telangana due to mounting cases in neighbouring states.
“Ensure that there are no loopholes in the implementation of tracing and testing Covid19 patients. We will continue the Covid19 vaccination drive in the state and see that the remaining groups are also covered,” the minister said.
