Hyderabad: ‘Namaz-e-Janaza’ of Maulana Mufti Mohammad Azeemuddin Qadri, the head of Jamia Nizamia Seminary, who died after a brief illness on Friday.
In the mosque in Jamia Nizamia seminary, prayers were held after the Zohar (afternoon) prayers and led by Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Rector, Jamia Nizamia.
Mufti Mohammad Azeemuddin Quadri, who was 84 years old, is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters.
He was associated with Jamia Nizamia for many years in various capacities. He was also associated with Hyderabad-based Daeratul Maarif, an institution that acquires, edits and prints rare Arabic manuscripts.
The body was later taken to the Dargah Sujjahuddin Quadri in the Eidi Bazaar in Yakutpura where it was laid to rest. The funeral was attended by many eminent personalities.
