IMD issued a five-day thunderstorm warning across Telangana

Hyderabad: Cyclone Tauktae, which affected the weather of several states including Telangana, caused light rain in various parts of the city on Thursday evening.The maximum temperature of the city has dropped by at least 5 degrees and today it was 34.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad has also issued thunderstorm warnings at different places in the state over the next five days. Experts say that around 22 May a low pressure area is likely to form over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal. It is very likely to turn into a cyclonic storm by 24 May. It will move north-west and reach Odisha and West Bengal coast around the morning of 26 May.

As per the latest incidents, experts have warned that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning accompanied by gusty winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph and hail is likely at isolated places in Telangana. The districts including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Jagtial, Pedapalli, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad, Narayanpet and Mahabubnagar are expected to receive moderate to heavy rains for the next five days.
