Hyderabad: On wednesday rachakonda police arrested an engineering student who was allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from people after hacking his social media accounts.
Aresani Bharath Kumar 21 years old an engineering student at Ghatesar, randomly collected individuals’ mobile numbers from a popular classifieds website and used the numbers to log into their social media accounts.
The cyber crime police said, “After gaining access, he downloaded personal photos of people and blackmailed them to pay.”
complaint of a victim, from whom Bharat Kumar allegedly demanded Rs 10,000, the police arrested him. Police found that he was using an application to contact his victims by hiding his phone number and using a VoIP number.
