Hyderabad: Two children, aged around 13 and 8, drowned in Manair lake on the Neerukulla outskirts of Sultanabad mandal on Friday night. The children are said to have gone with their parents to their relative’s death anniversary on Friday evening.
While the family was engaged in ‘puja’, the boys left from there and took off into the lake to swim. However, both drowned in the water as they could not swim.
After a long time, the parents noticed that the children were missing and began the search. They found children’s clothes on a rock near the water and alerted the police.
Police carried out rescue operations and with the help of professional swimmers, the bodies were taken out.
The deceased were identified as 13 years old Anil and 8 years old Ram Charan.
According to the parents of the boys, Anil was pursuing 10th grade at Zilla Parishad High School in Subhashnagar.
Police registered a case on a complaint lodged by Anil’s parents.
