Maharashtra imposed Seven Days Complete Lockdown in Amravati District Amid Spike in Covid Cases.

Maharashtra : Amravati district in Maharashtra will be placed under lockdown for a week amid Spike of Coronavirus Cases in the state. Cabinet Minister Yashomati Thakur said the lockdown will Begin from Monday evening. The government said only essential services will be allowed to function during the strict seven-day lockdown. The lockdown will be extended if people do not follow safety rules, the minister said, adding the decision to stop all non-essential activity was taken after COVID cases continued to rise in Maharashtra. Earlier today, the Maharashtra government had Hints of imposing a night curfew in several districts across the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was expected to chair a meeting today in which the decision regarding the same will be taken, State Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar informed today.
